Adobe's generative image, video and audio app, with a published training-data position, Content Credentials on outputs and credit-metered premium models.
Teams that need the vendor to state, on its own site, what the base models were trained on before the work goes into a client deliverable: Adobe publishes that Firefly models are trained on licensed Adobe Stock content and public domain content where copyright has expired, and that outputs from Adobe Firefly AI models are safe for commercial use. It also suits anyone whose bottleneck is volume of ordinary edits rather than exotic models, because standard image and vector generations are unlimited on every paid plan and keep working after the monthly credits are gone. Buyers who need a contractual IP position have a published route: eligible enterprise customers can receive IP indemnification for select Firefly outputs.
The commercial-safety statement covers Adobe Firefly AI models only: for the partner models exposed inside the same product, Adobe states you are responsible for determining whether the generated content is appropriate for your project, so the claim does not travel with everything in the model picker. The plans page never states how many credits one image generation costs, and it does not quantify the free plan beyond "limited free daily generations", so you cannot model cost per asset or trial throughput before paying. Indemnification is not available on any self-serve plan; it is limited to eligible enterprise customers, with eligibility undefined on the plans page.
Pros
Cons
Adobe's product and plans pages state that outputs from Adobe Firefly AI models are safe for commercial use, and they do not draw a line between the free plan and paid plans on that point. What those pages do not state is who owns a generated image. Treat ownership as unpublished on the pages that carry the commercial-use statement, and read the applicable Adobe terms before relying on it.
Adobe publishes that Firefly models are trained on licensed content from Adobe Stock and public domain content where copyright has expired. On indemnity, the plans page states that eligible enterprise customers can receive IP indemnification for select Firefly outputs. Both the eligibility test and the list of covered outputs are left undefined there, and no indemnity is offered on any self-serve tier.
Adobe states on the Firefly product page that it does not train Adobe Firefly models or partner models on any Creative Cloud subscribers' personal content. Because the published default is no training, there is no opt-out toggle to find. Custom Models work the other way round by design: you supply your own assets to fine-tune a model for your own use.
Standard image and vector generation is unlimited on every paid plan, including after the monthly credits run out, so ordinary generation is not the constraint. Credits are spent on premium features such as video, speech and partner models. Adobe does not publish the credit cost of a single generation on its plans page, so premium spend per asset has to be measured in the product.
