Text-based chat interview that screens and ranks candidates, with four-fifths-rule bias testing, model cards and ISO/IEC 42001 certification.
High-volume frontline, retail and graduate hiring where a mobile text interview can take the place of CV screening, with the interview link dropped straight into a job ad. It suits teams that have to show candidates and internal stakeholders a fairness position: Sapia states it tests models against the EEOC-recommended four-fifths rule before release, records results in a model card, and publishes a Fairness Score with stated thresholds. Already-integrated ATS include Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, iCIMS, Greenhouse, PageUp and Avature.
Skip it if you are relying on the independent bias audit as current coverage. Sapia's own pages date the BLDS, LLC audit to 2022 and scope it to US and Canadian Chat Interview models, and state the public audit does not cover every current role and market. Teams on Lever, Ashby or BambooHR should skip it, because none appear on the integrations page, which names only 11 partners and names no API for any of them. Anyone who needs a price before a sales call is out too: no plans, rates, minimums, free tier or trial are published, and no data residency is stated anywhere on the site.
Pros
Cons
Recruiters describe the traits they want and the platform builds a structured interview. Candidates complete it on mobile by chatting in text, and the link can be posted directly in a job ad. Sapia states the fit score uses only interview responses, extracting language signals linked to job performance such as personality traits, behavioural competencies and language skills. Every applicant receives six personalised insights and one coaching tip.
Sapia's own pages name BLDS, LLC as the independent auditor and state it found no evidence of practically significant disparate impact for sex or race/ethnicity across 72 statistical tests, made up of 23 standardised mean difference tests and 49 adverse impact ratio tests. Sapia dates that audit to 2022 and scopes it to US and Canadian Chat Interview models, stating it does not cover every current role and market.
Sapia states it has achieved ISO/IEC 42001:2023, the international standard for AI management systems, and lists SOC 2 Type 2 and GDPR alongside it. The announcement, dated 07 October 2025, names no certification body and states no scope. Sapia mentions the EU AI Act and states ISO 42001 reduces risk under it, but does not state whether its own products are classified as high-risk. It does not mention New York City Local Law 144.
Sapia's integrations page names 11 partners: Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, SmartRecruiters, Teamtailor, iCIMS, PageUp, Avature, Humanforce, Greenhouse, eArcu and Tribepad. Several are described as marketplace integrations. Lever, Ashby and BambooHR are not listed. The page states all integrations are fully documented and supported, and that Sapia will work with middleware providers where a direct integration is not available, but it names no API.
