Live chat with the Lyro AI agent for SMB and ecommerce sites, with a genuinely free plan and Lyro billed per AI conversation.
Small ecommerce stores and SMB websites that want an AI agent answering website chat from their own support content without a sales process. The free plan and a US$32.50/month Lyro standalone entry point make it the cheapest genuine on-ramp in this set, and Lyro grounds strictly on your scraped support content plus written guidance. Also useful for multilingual storefronts, since Tidio documents automatic language detection across roughly 47 languages.
Skip Tidio if email deflection is the job: Lyro replies only to the first message in a new email thread, after which a human agent must take over, so it cannot be your primary email AI agent. The 10-seat cap on self-serve plans and the Plus tier starting at US$300/month plus usage make it a poor fit for support teams above about ten agents, or for anyone wanting Lyro Connect to sit cheaply on top of an existing Zendesk, Intercom or Salesforce desk. Regulated buyers should also note the security page claims a completed SOC 2 examination without stating the report type and names AWS with no region or residency option.
Pros
Cons
Lyro is priced per AI conversation, counted once a conversation receives at least one Lyro reply regardless of message count. Tidio's free plan includes 50 Lyro conversations as a one-off lifetime allowance. Lyro standalone starts at US$32.50 per month for 50 conversations with a 7-day trial, and the Premium tier moves to pay-per-resolution billing from 3,000 conversations.
Tidio has a genuine free plan at US$0 per month with no end date: 50 billable conversations, up to 10 seats and 100 Flows visitors per month. The catch is the AI. The 50 Lyro conversations on the free plan are a lifetime allowance, not monthly, so Lyro stops answering once they are spent. Flows visitors do reset every 30 days.
Lyro is enabled on the Tidio website chat widget by default. Tidio's help centre documents optionally enabling Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and email. Email is limited: Lyro replies only to the first message in a new thread, after which a human agent must respond, and the email channel requires a connected mailbox. Lyro Connect extends Lyro to Zendesk, Intercom and Salesforce.
Tidio's help centre states Lyro works in English by default plus 47 other languages, though a second Tidio help article says 48 and its FAQ page says 45-plus, so the vendor's own pages disagree. Lyro detects the customer's language mid-conversation and replies in it. You can restrict Lyro to a language list; it still understands excluded languages but answers in the default.
